FINALLY

I have finally gotten another computer completely set up to record the rest of A Glow in the Spring. I've had technical difficulties with my laptop, and have only been able to record bits and pieces here and there. So I will be finishing off the last chunk of the recording this week and next week.

DARK EYES

I posted a song from A Glow in the Spring on the Myspace. It's a rough cut if you, still a bit more work, but I just wanted to give everyone something fresh to jam to.

The album is still unfortunately being worked on. I've been dealing with some things, but I hope to release it still this summer. Of course, as long as I can get someone to pick it up.

In the mean time, my best friends DR. BREATH released their debut EP Time Biters on Bataille Music. Do yourselves a favor and purchase it here. It's an incredible disc featuring genius at work.

RECORDING

Over the course of the next week I will finish tracking two things, one being the free downloadable EP I've mentioned very little about entitled PSYCHOPOMP. And second being the vocals for A GLOW IN THE SPRING, which I hope to release as soon as possible. Artwork is being worked on and all that. Hopefully I will find someone to put this out for me, and those who want to, may order it online.

Talk to you cats soon.

PRODUCTIVE

I've been working hard/hardly working.
10 songs nearly finished being written.
Most of which are partially or completely recorded.
No vocals yet. Have to go home for that.
I think the artwork is being worked on.
When all of this is finished, I'll start shopping around for distro.
BUSY BUSY BUSY.

Also, for those who don't know/forgot, I am fully dedicated to a band, which will eventually, once time allows, become my top priority. I'm merely waiting for the time when I can work with my musical counterpart/soulmate on a semi-daily/weekly basis. More on this soon hopefully, as I am very excited, and have been working on some delicious tunes for that.

THE ABBEY

Definitely an interesting show for me. Equipment malfunctions made playing a little more difficult than I like. So I didn't sound as good as I would've wanted, but oh well. It was fun playing anyway. Some really good pictures were taken, but I have to pay for them... Need a job to support these sort of things.

Gotta re-evaluate some things. Tour. Album. Sounds. Life.
Also need some more shows. I'm out of them. Need to go to the show store.

4/20 was good.

SUGARCUBES

"I push one button on my sampler and you're dead.
My evil sounds mash a crater right through your head.
With me on the offense and you lacking defense,
I just paralyzed your humanity sequence."

That's extremely exciting and a lot of you don't know why, but hopefully will soon.

DELICIOUS FOOD.

I had a lot of fun playing tonight.
Didn't really mess up either.

SORRY IF I THUNDERSTRUCK YOU

Come on out to this. It says 21+ but honestly, they really don't check unless you buy a drink. It's going to be fun. My set may possibly be getting video taped, so that will be pretty cool. My set may also possibly contain three new songs, one of which I've played once previously, but I have changed up a bit since then. Archaeology is really good, and Owen Nicolas is really good and a really good guy on tour from Florida and could use some support seeing as how he's on tour.

BEING GROOVY

I recorded a couple of songs today.

I reworked "Eating Cake." The percussion is much bouncier and the vocals more clear. You'll hear it in time.

The second, a song that I've been working on for a while, but I'm yet to decide on a title.

And a song titled "Being Groovy" which can be found on my Myspace. I've recently been inspired by this bombastic Rasta House music heard on a late night radio tuning. This song is pretty much the outcome of that inspiration. It's about a collection of lovely experiences I've had the luck to be a part of. The music came together rather quickly, and the vocals took merely three takes, which is quite an achievement for myself. The lyrics are up on the space as well. SPREAD THE WORD!

Nick Over and out.

VALE OF PARADISE

I'm really really dying to record.
Which is definitely happening tomorrow.
Which means I will most likely post a new song or two from A Glow in the Spring tomorrow.
Because I care.

I've reworked a lot of old songs recently, but none of which will probably be released. If I do find time, I will finish them up and maybe make a downloadable compilation. Eating Cake has been reworked, but that will be coming out on the album, because I like that song so much. BIG BEATS.

Once I get a few more songs recorded, and pictures taken, I will be shaping together some press kits to send away to labels. "Good luck, Nick!"

YIKES

I just applied to be a guitar teacher at a new guitar/bass/keyboard instruction place.
Hopefully that works out. I need money to fund PARALYZE.
Thanks Taylor. <3

Oh, and I'm going to get a lot of recording done at my parents' house this weekend. So expect new stuff soon.

MAGIK

So I dunno. I thought I'd try this out. Everyone's doing it..

I'm going to attempt to keep a journal of my song writing, recordings, live shows, and whatever else comes to mind.

So to start off, I'm really struggling to get work done on my album A Glow in the Spring. I really do enjoy recording everything myself, but at the current moment I'm having equipment breakdowns like no other. It seems everything wants to give at the same time, and I'm too poor to fix the problems. I have roughly eight completely brand new songs musically worked out, but no way to record them, or to record vocals for that matter. It's really a drag because I want to let people listen to what I'm cooking, but that seems to be a distant dream at the moment.

I have a couple of Chicago shows this month. The first is April 15th at Ronny's Bar. This is with friends Owen Nicolas and future tour buddy Archaeology. Other future tour buddies Dr. Breath were set to play, but unfortunately can't because Chris is still a young boy. The show's 21+ but you can probably get in no problem if you're not of age. They never ID, unless you buy drank.
The second show this month falls on April 19th, and is at the Abbey Pub. I'm real excited to play here. It looks like a wonderful venue. I'll be playing with Juffage, Kate Myers, and A Lull. All of which are fantastic. This show is 18+. I really hate age limited shows, but I gotta play what I get, right?

And yes, speaking of tour. We're really working on making Family Vacation happen. We haven't quite started booking entirely, but I've been in contact with several places. Believe me when I say, updates will be quite frequent on this. Especially when the tour actually begins. I will try my best to update from the road. Maybe some sort of picture/video journal or something.

Possibly getting promos taken this weekend. I hate having pictures taken. I'm a very awkward person to begin with, and getting your picture taken while you try and look like some badass musician person is definitely up there on the awkward scale.

I feel like I'm boring whoever may be reading this, so I'll stop for now. It's 4:30 in the morning and I think I may try to sleep.
